I didn't sleep too long because I think it was only around ten o'clock when I woke up. I felt pretty hungry because I hadn't eaten for at least a day. I was afraid they'd send food up with old Maurice though so I didn't order anything. What I did was I gave old Sally Hayes a buzz. Anyway I gave her a buzz and we arranged to meet. She said it would be grand. Grand, theres a word I hate. It's so phony. After I made the date with Sally I got up and packed my bags. When I went downstairs I didn't see old Maurice anywhere, Naturally I didn't strain myself to look for him - The bastard. I decided to check my money. I'd spent a king's ransom in two lousy weeks. I'm a goddamn spendthrift at heart. I really am. What I don't spend I lose. My father is quite wealthy though so It doesn't matter. After I'd packed my bags into a strong hold at the train station I decided to take a walk down Broadway. I decided to get something to eat so I went into a diner. While I was sat there these two nuns came over and sat next to me. we got talking and struck up a conversation about the play 'Romeo and Juliet'. I gave them 10 dollars in their collection fund even though I was low on cash. I offered to pay their check but they said I'd been too kind. Then they left. After they left I felt kinda sorry I'd only given them 10 bucks. Money. Makes you blue as hell.
